Our Mission
The Agile Education Program powered by Scrum Inc.™ was launched to provide individuals and organizations with a clear path to implementing Scrum in a way that delivers results. With a vision of leaving a positive, lasting impact on the world of work, Scrum Inc. created the Agile Education Program to:
- Create high-quality Scrum training that aligns with the teachings of Dr. Jeff Sutherland, co-creator of Scrum and signatory of the Agile Manifesto
- Partner with dedicated, experienced Scrum educators to deliver the training and course curriculum worldwide
The Agile Education Program asks students and organizations to “Believe in the Power of Better”. AEP meets Agile Professionals where they are at in their Scrum journey. We support on-demand Scrum basics training, Registered Scrum credentialing, the scaling framework Scrum@Scale, and training and coaching programs for Scrum educators.
Our credentials and curriculum are based on decades of experience and research helping organizations improve performance. We firmly believe that a core element of productive change, adaptation, and continuous improvement requires voluntary participation.
Our Curriculum
The Agile Education Program powered by Scrum Inc.™ curriculum was developed from Dr. Jeff Sutherland and Scrum Inc.’s 20+ years of experience delivering twice the value and impact at half the cost in organizations around the globe. Only AEP Trainer graduates are authorized to teach this curriculum and certify students through the Agile Education Program. Course curriculum includes emphasis on Lean Principles, Scrum Patterns of High-Performing Teams, Scrum@Scale®, and lessons from real-world implementations.
Our curriculum goes beyond anointing people with a credential. The International Registry of Agile Professionals™ provides a living record of those who have registered their intent and commitment to the mission of leaving a lasting, positive impact on the world.
History of the Agile Education Program
It all started with an idea: to spread Scrum around the world.
That idea inspired Scrum Inc. to create a pilot education program in Tokyo, Japan in 2019. The purpose? To help organizations in the Japanese market incorporate high-productivity, low-waste ways of working into their business operations. This pilot education program, called Scrum Inc. Japan, was a success. Not only did it encourage sustainable growth and digital transformation for major organizations in the local market, it offered a unique opportunity for Scrum to have a definitive impact on a major world economy. The next challenge? To replicate that success on a world stage. The program needed to scale.
The Agile Education Program was formally introduced in 2020 to support a global community of Scrum and Agile practitioners. Within 12 months, AEP partnered with over 100+ dedicated Registered Scrum Trainers (RSTs) and Registered Scrum@Scale Trainers (RS@STs) to offer courses worldwide.
Now, we are focused on leaving a lasting, transformative impact on the world.
